Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 2026 · Version 2026.05

Important notice: The Portuguese version of this Policy, available at chatcheck.in/cookies, is the original and prevailing version. In case of any conflict, the Portuguese text shall prevail.

This Cookie Policy supplements the Privacy Policy and describes, in compliance with the LGPD (Law no. 13,709/2018) and the Marco Civil da Internet, which storage technologies we use on the website and Platform dashboard, their purposes, durations, and how you can manage them.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

"Cookies" are small files that a website stores in your browser to recognize you or remember preferences. In addition to traditional cookies, we also use:

  • localStorage and sessionStorage: browser-side storage for session data (authentication token, active bot, cookie preferences);
  • Third-party SDKs: libraries loaded via CDN (e.g., Sentry for error telemetry);
  • Embedded iframes: e.g., YouTube videos in "no-cookie" mode.

For the purposes of this policy, all of these mechanisms are jointly referred to as "cookies".

2. Cookie categories

We classify cookies into four categories. Only the "essential" category is required for the operation of the Platform — all others can be accepted or rejected by you.

  • Essential — required for authentication, session, and security. Cannot be disabled.
  • Functional — remember usage preferences (e.g., last month viewed in the calendar, active bot).
  • Analytical — help us understand errors and performance (Sentry). Loaded only with your consent.
  • Marketing — we currently do not use marketing/advertising cookies. We list the category for transparency in case this changes in the future.

3. Detailed list

The table below describes each cookie/storage that may be created during the use of the Platform:

Name Type Provider Purpose Duration Category
auth_token localStorage Chat Check-in Authentication token of the logged-in user Until logout (max. 7 days) Essential
auth_user localStorage Chat Check-in Cache of basic user data (id, email) to avoid redundant requests Until logout Essential
cookie_consent localStorage Chat Check-in Your cookie preferences (which categories you accepted) Permanent, until you clear Essential
current_bot_id sessionStorage Chat Check-in Currently selected bot in the dashboard (for accounts with multiple bots) Session (closes when browser closes) Functional
cal:lastView:* sessionStorage Chat Check-in Last month viewed in the bookings calendar Session Functional
Sentry SDK Script via CDN Sentry (US) Platform error and performance telemetry Session Analytical
youtube-nocookie.com Embedded iframe YouTube / Google (US) Playback of demo videos via YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode — no advertising tracking cookies are set unless the video is played Session Functional
Stripe cookies 1st/3rd party cookie Stripe (US/IE) Fraud prevention and checkout security (loaded only during payment flow) Up to 1 year Essential

4. Third-party cookies and international transfers

Some of the providers listed above (Sentry, YouTube/Google, Stripe) process data in the United States. These international transfers follow what is set forth in section 8 of the Privacy Policy (LGPD art. 33, standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, prohibition on use for model training).

5. How to manage your preferences

On first access to the site, we display a banner with three options:

  • Accept all — enables all four categories.
  • Essential only — disables functional, analytical, and marketing.
  • Customize — choose category by category.

You can review your choice at any time by clicking the button below. Changes apply from the next navigation onward (in some cases, consent becomes effective immediately without requiring a page reload).

Manage my cookie preferences

Opens the panel to adjust which categories you accept or reject.

You may also block cookies directly in your browser settings — but note that disabling essential cookies may compromise the operation of the Platform (e.g., preventing login).

6. Updates to this Policy

This Policy may be updated to reflect technological or regulatory changes. The current version is always available at chatcheck.in/en/cookies and the date of the last revision is shown at the top of this page.

7. Contact

Questions about cookies, exercise of rights, or processing of personal data: [email protected] (Data Protection Officer — DPO).
